About me
Minister King X Pyeface, is a cultural leader within the global Artivist movement, blending hip-hop, activism, and community leadership. He currently serves as the Director of California Prison Focus, a human rights organization whose mission is to shut down the solitary confinement units in California prisons and to end long term isolation, medical neglect, and all forms of discrimination.
Previously, Minister King was one of several incarcerated activist leaders who helped organize hunger strikes that rippled through the California state prison system in a fight for better conditions. He is now a plaintiff in a landmark lawsuit against CDCR for unconstitutional restrictions against freedom of speech and assembly that disproportionately impact Black and Brown people, stemming from his unlawful arrest by CDCR officials back in 2021.
